While organizing the 1st Salzburg Caricature Competition the organizer – Nina Herzog – noticed the lack of professional structures for caricaturists and people who are interested in such in Austria. There is no place to go to get information or practical advice; Whereas other disciplines have their artists guilds and associations the caricaturists seem to suffer from the lack of representation and alliance.
Therefore, the idea of an Austrian Caricature Association was born and in summer 2015 the association was officially registered.
